  ~~MINISTRIES~~

ORIANNA HOUSE
(Ephesians1:17, 18)

On the second Sunday of each month, we have been given the awesome privilege and responsibility to minister at the Orianna house for women Orianna is a corrections facility located on Power Street in Akron. We have one hour to present the to the residents, encouragement and hope with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the knowledge of Gods great love.
Alterra Sterling House

Alterra Sterling House is an assisted living community providing housing and supportive services such as bathing, dressing, medication administration and more to older adults.  We know in places like Alterra Sterling House the elderly are physically taken care of, but in our society today it is so easy to forget about the heart and soul. We forget that the elderly are unable to attend church services at their own place of worship as they did years before. Who can serve this need in their lives?

Through the compassion and leadership of Jody Hermann and her Puppet Team with the vision of Emmanuel Christian Assembly to serve the community around us, we  began holding services twice a month for the members of Alterra Sterling House. Since 2004 we have been building relationships as we sing, laugh, play games, cry, and pray - focused on Christ’s love. We remind the residents that they can still bear fruit with their vast knowledge and be filled with peace, love and joy. If you feel a need to belong, please come with us and the members of Alterra Sterling House will make you feel like you belong.

Teen Ministry

 I believe that teen ministry is essential because it encourages our teens to step up and be leaders/models for the children in our church. My goal as the teen leader is to spiritually grow with the teens in the Word of the Lord.  I would like, the teens to be mentally focused on the Word of the Lord, so that they can share the Gospel without hesitation. The scripture that I like to share with the teens is 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.”
 Another very important scripture is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” The teens need to know that when they need help, God will give them the strength to overcome any obstacle that is thrown at them.
  Jail Ministry
Hebrews 13:3, Continue to remember those in prison as if you were in   prison with them;

Emmanuel Christian Assembly Jail Ministry’s mission is to see inmates come to Christ and be transformed by the power of His Spirit: transformed, rather than reformed.   Emmanuel Christian Assembly has put together 2 teams of men and women who bring the gospel to Summit County Jail as well as to the Power Street facility of the Oriana House.   The teaching of God's Word enables the inmates to see the bigger picture of God's plan for their lives. We teach the men and women that understanding the love of God is the foundation for their future growth. Loving God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength enables them to love others as well. Only when a person invites Jesus Christ to be in complete control of their life and becomes obedient to God's Word, will they truly be rehabilitated.
